Zap…
Friday, April 27th, 2007and April’s gone, just like that. Well, it certainly lived up to its reputation for being the cruelest month. Time consumed by doctors and hospitals and dad’s recuperation, which has occurred. Barring any last minute emergencies for the nurse me, I am leaving in a few hours to drive up to Neenah, WI for the Spring 2007 Midwest Master’s Weekend. I hope to be relaxing this evening with friends, after visiting a yarn store in Appleton, followed by dinner at a restaurant (and a martini?). Tomorrow I have an all-day class on wire knitting with Annie Modesitt, followed by the banquet. Sunday morning is Annie’s Combination Knitting class. I think I have combi-knitting under control but want to ask her a few questions about what to do with ssk’s and psso’s and things like that. Then Sunday afternoon I have “Seamz” with Kathy Powers-Johnson, an old crochet friend I’m anxious to see again and the class (which had homework!!) maybe will help me with my inability to finish anything! Especially since I missed most of Susanna Hansson’s “Finicky Finishing” class at the end of March, due to my mistake about starting time and then my missing most of the class due to upset stomach. What a disaster that was. Though we did get a really good handout.
However, I have finished most of my Ananas shell and panicked when I ran out of yarn before even starting the ribbing at the top. Guess my gauge was off, but it fits and I like the drape. Luckily, I found 4 more balls at a LYS so I’m good to go as soon as I have some time to sit down and figure out the picking up of stitches around the neckline.
And that was the month of April! Gone so quickly (sigh). Hope to start more of last year’s unstarted summer projects come May! Looking forward to this weekend…better get packing.
